In addition to the looks of your bathroom, adding grab bars can make the bathroom more accessible and safer to use.

When choosing your grab bars, you will first need to determine the size of the grab bars that your bathroom requires. The size of the grab bar will be determined by how you plan to use the bar. For example, if you plan to use the grab bar to help steady yourself when exiting the shower, you won’t need a long bar.

A vertical handgrip of twelve to sixteen inches would be installed in this situation.

For horizontal grab bars, you will typically have them installed on the long back wall with dimensions between 24 inches and 36 inches.

Typically, we will install grab bars straight across in the shower and angled in a tub. We install the bars at an angle or straight across, depending on how you plan to use them. We recommend angled grab bars if you need to grip something to pull yourself up, such as out of a tub. Straight grab bars can help you steady yourself while maneuvering and work to help prevent falls and slips.
